Who it's for

firstfoot is opinionated, and that costs it customers. Better you know now than after you have signed up.

It fits if

  • You have shipped something and nobody is using it, and you cannot tell whether that is the product, the audience or the fact that nobody knows it exists.
  • You would rather be building, and every hour you spend on marketing feels like an hour stolen.
  • You will not publish anything that overclaims, which rules out most of what marketing tools produce.
  • You want to be told your favourite channel is a waste of six hours a week, provided somebody shows you the numbers.

It does not fit if

You want thirty posts a week

Output is capped on purpose. Volume is what filled the feed with noise in the first place, and a tool that produces more of it is selling you the disease.

You want something that posts for you

You publish everything yourself. A bot posting in your name is how founders lose the voice that was working, and it is the fastest way to lose standing in a community you spent a fortnight earning.

You have not shipped anything yet

firstfoot reads what you already say and what your users already do. With nothing shipped, there is nothing to read — it would be inventing a product and an audience, which is exactly the failure it exists to prevent. Come back when something is live, even if nobody is using it.

You want a tool that agrees with you

It will tell you the channel you like is not worth the hours. It will kill most of what it writes before you see it. If you want a collaborator that says yes, there are cheaper ones.
